Beer Review 151: Payback Porter – Speakeasy Ales & Lagers

Pours dark mohagany brown, nearly opaque, with light brown 1-finger creamy head. Definitely a porter aroma. Chocolate, dark roasted malts, and a hint of coffee or espresso. The chocolate is more of a dark cocoa powder and there is a hint of fruity yeast esters. Smells a lot like a rich brown ale. The taste starts with creamy roasty flavors in the mouth, followed by chocolate malts in the middle, then as it tapers off you pickup some of the roasted malts with the chocolate and a light bitterness from the malts A creamy texture and a full body that dries a little in the finish.
